It was an early start to get there for the 8 am start. It was a miserable drizzly morning in Aiskew at 06:15 when Stuart picked me up. There was a suggested route.
Starting and finishing at Commondale.
Great use for old wellies
No sign of the drizzle as we looked towards the sunrise over the distant coast.
You could literally see for miles .
Nice to bag a trig on route.
Stuart checking the vast landscape for pathfinders.
Checkpoint 3 was Kildale
Ancient industry in the landscape.
I loved the angles against the rounded hills.
Water filled shaft
An interesting bridge
We gave the competitors space,
Look how far we have come. It was such a clear day.
Crossing Blakey Ridge
Another interesting building. An old chapel.
Some climbs were steep and tough for tired legs but worth it for the views.
Ooh? Another trig to bag
We were heading back now, heading for Danby.
An interesting stone on the moors.
We briefly stopped to listen to tales of kingfishers and otters.
One last long climb
Before descending through the bracken.
Back to Commondale.
It was tough on tired legs but a grand day out.
I recommend The Pathfinder it has stunning views.
