Hopefully not the end of Janathon

I just did a dogjog, in case I dont get chance to run this evening. Tonight I plan to go for a run before my swim, but in case anything happens to prevent me running or swimming this is my insurance policy.
I have jogged, logged, blogged and read and commented on others blogs, every single day of January, The hardest bit has been the blogging, it has been so time consuming, but I have really enjoyed reading everyone elses blogs, and will continue to do so after Janathon.
Hoping to blog again some time after 9pm, bye for now

Gotta make 100

last night was a good night, good food drink and lots of dancing, didn't get in til 2am ish, I dont get out often.

This morning I realised that I had entered a distance on Janathon in miles instead of km, I rectified it, but that made my mileage drop.
I did a dogjog this afternoon of 4 miles and realised when I was on Dailymile that I had done 91 miles training this week. I have never trained that far before, but I couldn't leave it like that, so I went on the turbo and sweated out last nights excesses, for 10 miles.
New total for the week 101 miles.
Well thats the penultimate day of Janathon done. Cant wait ti tomorrow, will it be a sprint finish, or will i crawl over the line? I know I have a meeting after work til late, which will mean less training time.

A good thing about #Janathon

One good thing about Janathon, is that I distract myself whilst running, writing my blog in my head. (then I get home and forget what I'd planned)
Did my long run today as its the running club dinner and I may not feel up to a long run tomorrow.
I do remember thinking how  much people who lie in miss. When I'm out I love to see the frost sparkling in the moonlight, the sun come up, the rabbits and deer playing, or the changes all around as the seasons change. Today I saw my first snowdrops and that made me smile, ( maybe I'm just easily pleased).
On the other hand, people who lie in bed don'talmost get run over by careless drivers on their mobile phones, or get home after a 3 1/2 hour run with a bum thats numb from the cold.
So thats my ramblings for today, I'm off to bed so that I've plenty of energy to get through tonight.

head cold was a good thing

I've been having trouble with 02:12, ever since Christmas I have woken in the night at 02:12. every night, I cut down coffee, and alcohol, I cut down glucosomine ( a friend said it could affect sleep) I even spent a tenner on valerian drops, all to no avail.
This week I have been fighting a head cold and have taken Beechams night and day, and for the past 2 nights I have slept through 02:12,( fingers crossed that it lasts). Infact I have been struggling to get up with my alarm at 05:30, but yesterday I decided to set my alarm for 06:00 and woke naturally at 05:36, and today I woke at 05:15, Long may it last.
As for #Janathon, because I was up early, I set out at 06:00 for  1 mile run, and was enjoying it so I extended it to 4 Miles, then I came home, stretched off and jumped on the turbo for 30 mins.
The weekend may be problematic, I have the Ripon Runners annual dinner tomorrow eve, and a long run to fi in somewhere. I have yet to decide whether to go for the long run tomorrow or Sunday afternoon. Decisions, Decisions.

no dogjog for Jed

started the day on the turbo, missing swimming last night meant that my legs were strong and I managed 20km in 31 mins, then I walked the dog,
Tonight was club training night, Intervals. the session is fab, but my trg plan asks for more, so when the session finished at 4.12 miles, I did the stretches and ran home, to give a total of 5.3 miles for the day.
Now I am 6th for distance and 9th for lenght of time spent execising , with only 4 days to go.

Its not that I'm not invincible but....

Ok I have taken the rare and mature decision to miss out on tonight's swim. I feel much better today, I reckon that I'm beating this head cold, but as I normally leave the swimming baths and go straight to the YMCA where I am a volunteer youth worker for a youth drama group, and the dont get home before 21:30, I have decided that missing the swim is the best option for my longer term health and training. I have already swum 1 mile this week, and that is the goal that I set myself.
I have turbo'd this morning, 11 miles, and I Dogjogged 1.5 miles, so the Janathon is still very much alive and well.
Cant help feeling that I'm wimping out, and am tempted to get on the turbo to make up the session. But I am stopping myself, by reminding myself that rest is the best cure for colds and that there are just over 80 days left to the London Marathon, so keeping fit is important to get my miles of training in.

Wont be top, but wont stop trying

There are not enough none work hours, to get to the top, or even into the top 3 Janathoners.  kinda wish I'd logged my normal dog walks and walks too and from work, that would have been about another 100/150 miles, @ approx 5 mile a day dog walks, 3 miles on Dogjog days and 2 miles walking to and from work. but I only wanted to log specific fitness sessions. 6 days left to get a few more miles in

Janaton day 25, broke 200 miles

Woke this morning feeling like poo. Head felt full of fog and as if it was in a vice. Ears and throat were itchy and nose was blocked but running like a river. Refused to let it get to me, dosed myself up on beechams and went and bought Vicks first defense, and carried on as usual.
Went to running club tonight, most of group went back at around 5.5 miles, but 3 of us carried on for 7, only managed 6.99 but it'll do.
Was feeling pretty rough when I got home, and started logging, realised that i had reached 195 miles. Well I could'nt go to bed leaving it like that, so with my nasty competative streak kicking in, before my bath I jumped on the turbo and rode 10km in the back bedroom. Total Janathon miles now 201 Happy with that.

Janathon _ cant believe I'm 8th, (at the minute)

Wow just entered todays efforts and checked the table, I was 8th, cannot believe it. really chuffed with myself.
Today, I started with a Dogjog, and after work I walked the dog and then went for a  5 mile run, followed by a mile swim. Shattered now, but only 1 week left.

long Sunday hilly muddy run

Went with a friend to meet another friend  for this weeks long run.Walked the 1 1/2 miles to meet Stephen and I picked a shorter route than usual, but it was challenging. It was hilly, mainly off road and extremely mucky. We all managed to stay upright. Legs were quite tired after this weeks running, but they stood up well to the punishment of muddy hills, I walked the 1 1/2 miles home as a cooldown.
Weighed myself this morning before I went 12 st 11 lb, I'd put one back on, GUTTED
Weighed myself after the run and a bath and a pint of water, 12st 8 3/4lb, thats the one i'm using for this week.
